Celebrate the kick off of America's 250th birthday with new information about those that lived here in the early 19th century. Age 12 and up.
Using new eLibrary resources, including the Hoosier Character digital map, we'll use oral history and traditional sources to see where 19th century Indiana residents lived—the common and the bold. While anyone can now learn who lived on their property prior to 1901, this program will focus on the stories of people who shaped Bloomington on The Square: stagecoach drivers, merchants, jailers, criminals, hat makers, tailors, educators, troublemakers, laundry workers, and more.
The Downtown Library is in the heart of Downtown Bloomington, located right on Kirkwood Avenue. It provides a variety of meeting rooms, spaces for children and teens, a digital creativity center, and much more.
