Join us for a night celebrating tea, books, and video games as we discuss Rebecca Thorne's "Can't Spell Treason Without Tea" and the video game "Wanderstop." Age 18 and up.
We'll have opportunities to play Wanderstop, and celebrate the warm, cozy vibes of a good cup of tea with a side of...treason? As a special treat, author Rebecca Thorne will be with us via Zoom to talk all things cozy and tea! The first 15 people registered will get a copy of the book.
Note: Tea—courtesy of Cup & Kettle Tea—will be available beginning at 5:15 PM and we'll start the book discussion at 5:30 PM.
Book summary:
All Reyna and Kianthe want is to open a bookshop that serves tea. However, Reyna works as one of the Queen’s private guards, and Kianthe is the most powerful mage in existence. Leaving their lives isn’t so easy. But after an assassin takes Reyna hostage, she decides she’s thoroughly done risking her life for a self-centered queen. Meanwhile, Kianthe has been waiting for a chance to flee responsibility—and all the better that her girlfriend is on board. Together, they settle in Tawney, a town nestled in the icy tundra near dragon country, and open the shop of their dreams.
Video game summary:
Wanderstop is a narrative-centric cozy game about change and tea. Playing as a fallen fighter named Alta, you'll manage a tea shop within a magical forest and tend to the customers who pass through. But, Alta does not want to be here. And if she gets her way, the tea shop will be nothing but a brief and painful memory. Wanderstop is available to play at the video game station at the Downtown Library
