Godzilla (1998)
Monday, June 22
4:30pm - 6:45pm
Southwest Branch
Meeting Room AJoin us to spend your evening heckling a movie so bad, you'll question how it was ever made. We'll have themed snacks and a worst watcher award up for grabs at the end of each viewing. Age 18 and up.
We come to this place for magic. We come to the Library to laugh, to cry, to care. Because we need that, all of us, that indescribable feeling we get when the screen begins to lower and we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of one of the world’s worst movies—together. Horrific acting, on a huge projector screen. Sound that doesn’t disturb the rest of the Library. Somehow, watching the worst of the worst feels good in a place like this.
Movie summary:
During a nuclear test, the French government inadvertently mutates a lizard nest; years later, a giant lizard makes its way to New York City. Dr. Niko Tatopoulos, an expert on the effects of radiation on animals, is sent by the U.S. government to study the beast. When the creature, dubbed "Godzilla" by news outlets, emerges, a massive battle with the military begins. To make matters worse, Niko discovers that Godzilla has laid a nest of 200 eggs, which are ready to hatch.
